Kessiakoff and Löfkvist showed how it works, now Tobias Ludvigsson is on his way to follow their footprints. The Swede was born on February 22nd 1991 inSkara, that is about 120 north east of Götgeborg. As every good young Swede Ludvigsson was a Mountainbiker once. And he was successful as he can call himself multiple National Champion in both the individual race and the relay. Further he became World Champion with the Swedish relay. Already as a junior however he also rode well on the street. In the time trial nobody in Sweden was able to match his strengh. At the junior World Championships in 2009 he became eiths in this discipline.

Since 2010 Ludvigsson rides with the elite. At the Triptyque des Monts et Châteaux (2.2) he became tenth of the time trial, at the Ringerike GP (2.2) was defeated during the fifth stage by all three rivals of his four-man breakaway. During the successful Swedish excursion to the US of A, the Univest GP (1.2) to be more precise, Ludvigsson crossed the line in eleventh place, with his teammate Jonas Ahlstrand winning in front of another teammate, Michael Olsson.

Team CykelCity owns a Continental-licence this year, that means more and bigger races. That is important for the development of young talents. Next to Ludvigsson there are some more promising prospects on the roster. The young Swede exploited the improved possibilities to the maximum. He enhanced his strenghs en celebrated his first professional victory in March. At the prologue of the Tour de Normandie (2.2) he bested fellow Mock Lister Luke Rowe and other prologue experts.

At the Nations Cup-race La Cote Picarde Ludvigsson became fifth. The Olympias Tour (2.2), traditionally a Mini Rabo festival he completed in fourth place overall. Thereby he proved that he can keep pace with the strongest riders of his category in hilly terrain. At the Bei der Thüringen - Rundfahrt (2.2U) he was not able to achieve a good overall. In Oberhof at the steep Bobsleigh run he was able to beat the assembled U23 elite and celebrate another win.

And then the fashion-conscious 20 year old, who occasionally sweats into designer sunglasses while warming up, suddenly was a „Skil Guy“. Ludvigsson joined Skil to the Iberian Peninsula. He climbed bravely at the Vuelta a Burgos (2.HC) and became a surpising 16th in the general classification. In Spain among Spaniards as a Swedish stagiaire at sometimes 40°C that is a

more than decent result and a very good start into the pro ranks.

The USA he had in good memories, so he supposedly was quite happy when being invited to the Pro Cycling Classic (2.1) in Colorado. At the fith stage to Breckenridge only few riders were able to follow Daniel Oss´ sprint preparations. Ludvigsson was and thereby he finished ninth while Viviani won the stage. In the end of the race he was 26th and therewith best Skil rider. Ludvigsson, the blonde Swede, thereof are not that many left, obviously arrived at the pros.

Skil recognized that as well. After his great performances, he also was part of the early breakaway of the GP Wallonie (1.1), they offered him a contract for the enxt two years. Now he can prepare himself smoothly for Copenhagen. In the time trial he will not stand a chance against the specialists, a top ten placing might be possibly though, considering his good shape. At the road race he might be a man to watch. If there is a small group breaking away near the finish in a hard race, Ludvigsson might be in there. With a World Title on the road he would be ahead of Kessiakoff and Löfkvist.
