It would be to easy, to reduce Marc Good down to being a trime trialist. Indeed he always benefited from the battle against the clock in his three biggest stage race wins, but that alone wouldn't live up to the talented Netherlander.

After three years with WV De Jonge Renner, where he scored his first victories – seven in number – in 2008, Goos joined the Continental Team Jo Piels for the season of 2010. He drew first attention to international audiences with a sitxth place at the prologue of Fleche du Sud (2.2), setting a cornerstone for a strong race. In the end he became ninth, after belonging to the first chasing group for a long time on the demanding mountain stage and getting the tenth stage place out of it. One month later he created a furor in Germany: He took the Tour de Berlin (2.2U) after a clear victory in the individual time trial and a passable fourth place with his team and the ttt. He didn't secure the Mainfranken-Tour (2.2U) in the time trial, where he fininshed fifth, but as a soloist on the last stage, snatching the overall victory from under Kittels nose. In between he accomplished the feat of winning the u23 championship in itt of the region Zuid-West for the third time in a row. He could confirm this performance as third at the national championships, where he had to surrender against Keizer and Hamelink, but overcame the other stars of the Mini-Rabos like Bol, Dumoulin, Vermeltfoort, Kelderman and Hofland. He ended the season with two successes at the criterium Ronde Van Wernhout and at the Netherlandish club championships for team time trials.

Of course the Mini-Rabos didn't think twice after the strong season of 2010 and gave Goos a contract for 2011. Already in the Driedaagse Van West-Vlaanderen's (2.1) prologue, Goos indicated that he also can keep pace with the big guys. Quickly with a fourth overall place at the Istrian Spring Trophy (2.2), behind the strong East Europeans Vrecer, Mahoric and Rogina, the first strong result came in, thanks to rank five in the itt and the eighth place in the mountain stage. He finished the Espoirs edition of Liège-Bastogne-Liège (1.2U) sixth, at Arno Wallaard Memorial (1.2) he reached the finish with the first group and became seventh. Straight away he used his awsome shape by adding another Top 10 ranking at the Rhône-Alpes Isère Tour (2.2).

After making it four in a row at the regional time trialing championships, he joined the strong Mini-Rabo line-up for the Thüringen-Rundfahrt (2.2U), where he and his team came in second in the ttt and he himself became sixth in the itt. Goos finished in the same place of the general classification. Over the french stage race Kreiz Breizh Elites (2.2), which he finished in the Top 5 as well, Goos went to Spain for the Vuelta a Leon (2.2). He won the race after defending the comfortable initial situation, he and his team gained by winning the ttt, on the challenging mountain stage against his biggest rivals Tiernan-Lock and Vallejo.

Initially Goos ought to start as a stagiare for the Rabobank pro team at the Tour of Colorado. However one week after his last victory and one week before the flight to the US, he broke his hip. Of course this made it unlike more difficult for the jinx, to recommend himself out of the big Mini-Rabo talent pool for a professional-engagement with the Rabobank squad for the upcoming season.
